Each of my veils is handmade, one by one, by me. When you receive your veil, you'll know why they're cherished by so many. They're worth waiting for.

As their popularity increased, at times I have struggled to keep up with the demand. In order to speed things along for you - my precious customers, see the section below with veils available to ship immediately.

Please feel free to view others in My Storefront. There are many more styles to see, but there may be a bit of a wait as some are made to order. So ... If you're in a rush, please to see if I can accommodate you.

You Get More Than "Just" a Veil

Because my veils are special, I know you will want to take care of them. That's why every veil comes with a complimentary carry pouch that are individually handmade.

Some are brocade and some are embroidered with a Cross or verse from Scripture. They are all different. I try to match the pouch to the veil. Some have a little pocket in the back to hold your Rosary and hair pins.

You'll also receive a prayer card and fragrant handmade lavender-rose sachet to keep your veil fresh.

About My Veils

I grew up in the pre-Vatican II Church. The use of a head-covering at Mass was the norm. You didn't even think twice about it. The custom was so deeply engrained that you wouldn't dream of entering a Church without something over your head.

On Saturday afternoons everyone went to confession. Every week. It's just what we did. There was no Mass. Women always had at least a little chapel veil with them tucked into their purses, but younger girls sometimes forgot and then there was a panicked hunt for a paper tissue and bobby pins to serve as emergency covering. For your safety ...

You will never receive a veil that has been on someone's head. Not even a model's head. Not even my head. I do not bring my veils to shows or conventions for people to touch. Why? I need to protect my customers from head lice! Ewwwww! I know! A horrible thought - but they're more common than any of us would like to think about. (Read more) It has nothing to do with personal hygiene. It can happen to anyone.

BUT ... just to be on the safe side -- No Returns - No Exceptions. Please look carefully at the measurements and ask questions so we can avoid the issue. In the unlikely event that there is a defect, let me know and I'll take care of it.

Catholic Home and Garden's Exclusive Embroidered Veiling

Last year I introduced several special veils embroidered with enduring symbols of faith.

They were so popular that I dedicated several months and many yard of experimental lace to  development of new designs that are an expression of love and faithfulness to Our Savior and His Mother.

More will follow as I experiment until I'm quite satisfied with the designs. Be sure to take advantage of discounted samples of my experiments that won't make it into full production.

For a start, the new designs are available on the pointe d'espirit lace veils in black and white shown at the right.

Pointe d'espirit is a fine bobbinette lace with scattered woven dots. The original meaning is "lace of the spirit" which I think is very appropriate.

These veils drape well and are made with the same attention to detail as you can always expect

Be sure to take advantage of discounted samples that won't make it into full production.

Made of heavily over-embroidered back and gold lace and paired with gold venise heart trim, this is a truly exceptional veil made with great attention to details down to the lining under the trim to ensure seamless draping.

Did You Know ...  In TLM circles the common thought is that black veils are reserved for married and and older women. This notion can be traced back to a European custom which dictated that widows should wear black for the months and years following the demise of their husbands.

While black is now a dignified choice for any woman, young or old, married or single, you may be surprised to learn that in Spain and Portugal black veiling is worn even by very young girls. Here are young girls in Seville during Holy Week.
